With a ten-year background of creative work in the field of non-profits, Johnson has a passion for doing pro-bono design work for non-profits in addition to her design projects.  Aside from pro-bono work, her design work has recently included both private residence design consultations, and public spaces, including prestigious Henri Bendel storefront windows on 5th Avenue and film sets for a Paramount Productions movie currently in production by Disney (Confessions of a Shopaholic, due out in February 2009).

A native Iowa resident, Cheri Johnson now resides in New York City, working as the Principal Designer for Cheri Johnson Design Studio.  Johnson is an ASID registered interior and architectural designer, holding multiple degrees from the University of Iowa and The Art Institute of New York City.  As a grant recipient of the American Association of University Women Educational Foundation, Johnson was chosen to represent the AAUW at various events to conduct presentations on current design work and future goals in the field of design.

Johnson currently works in conjunction with Malcolm James Kutner, Inc. at a studio in the Flat Iron District of New York City, in addition to continuous store front window designs and independent projects.
